Company History
In 1998, Dr. Michael Gervautz (at that time professor at the Institute for
Computer Graphics at the Vienna University of Technology), Dr. Rainer Hasenauer
(member of the board of Trust & Value management consultants Ges.m.b.H.) and Mag. Norbert Zimmermann
(managing director of Berndorf AG)
founded Imagination Computer Services
GesmbH. The goal was, and still is, to bring innovative virtual reality and
visualisation solution onto the market which represent and active link between
scientific research and the market. Hence Imagination is also always to be
found as an active partner in national and international research projects, in
which technologies are furthered in co-operation with renowned research centres
throughout Europe.
Since that
time solutions have been conceived, developed and offered to the market which
are state-of-the-art and a competitive advantage for Imagination customers.
In 2000,
Imagination received the Best New
Company Award 2000 twice from
the Austrian magazine GEWINN in the Hi-Tech and Industry category.
Since then
Imagination has been able to sharpen its profile and to focus on three vital
markets: the communication of culture
and knowledge, visualisation for industry and construction, marketing and sales
support. Products and solutions have been continually developed and
produced during the course of projects on these three supports.
In 2004 Imagination won the Austrian State Prize for Multimedia in the Culture
and E-entertainment category with the Kempelen Chess Player.
In 2005 the company entered the phase
of Internationalisation.
Imagination won more and more contracts abroad, above all in the areas of
visualisation for industry and the communication of culture and knowledge.
